GDM V4.2 - Leader of the pack

Update 4 V2 

This is a major update feature wise, but it honestly went so much smoother / easier than expected that I can't call it "major" but either way LEADER BOARDS are engaged.

You will need to delete extracted files and re download gdm_v4_2.7z and extract to get access to the leader boards.  This will work with old saves and will put you onto the leader boards with old info going back to maybe Ver 3.0 but honestly I would highly recommend starting fresh unless you are on at least ver 4.0 so you can experience the skills update while you try and hit number 1 on all 5 boards.

Boards

Currently implemented 5 leader boards.  These may change or more may be added based on community feedback.  Currently the active leader boards are as follows.

Milestone Board

This board features your scores generated from the milestone scoring system which is derived from completing milestones and time.  The earlier you complete milestones the higher your score.  The milestones will be seeing some major additions soon currently I just have the system and 4 milestones available.  This will be flushed out with a lot more milestones including many that will require things not currently in game, but as they get added so will milestones for these events.

Num Games Made

This board collects the total number of games made regardless of size.  I though tit would be cool to see who has made the most total games to date.  This is updated every time you finish a new game.

Best selling game

Your highest grossing (revenue - most) game will be added to the highest grossing games of all time.  This board is updated every time a game goes off market its totals are checked vs your best entry and will replace that entry as you release bigger and better selling games.

Company Valuation

This board lists companies and there total valuations.  Valuation is based off the current years gross (incomes - costs all types) multiplied by a factor to simulate projected growth.  This is calculated every January and if your current valuation is > than your previous this becomes your new value.  This value is then used to determine max loan size as well as your companies stock values, and as of today these valuations are tracked to see who has the best company in the world.

Total Fans

Self explanatory this baord features your most fans ever gained.  Its checked every week and keeps track of your most fans ever.  If you lose fans due to a bad release or bad delay etc this will not decrease your BEST score.

Current issues

Due to the nature of letting you name your own chars and business's if two people use the same name it will only track the best uploaded score.  Same if you use the same name on a different play through it will update your best score based on that name, if you want more entries you need to make a different name for your player / company / game titles. 

The board also eats up spaces and other non alphanumeric characters Ie $%#^  I will likely change this to allow spaces but currently names such as "Ryan Saunders" will appear as "RyanSaunders" and you need to keep the space out on search's.  If I don't fix this issue I will likely at least let you put "Ryan Saunders" in the search box and I will remove the space before searching, but I intend to change the code to not clean up submissions.

When the game has its eventual release I will be shifting to steam leader boards which will allow me to use your unique steam ID's to submit scores which will clean up a lot of these issues, but for now what I have setup will serve its purpose really well as long as everyone doesn't play as Ryan Saunders which I am sure you all want to :)
