GDM Ver 10 Fixes / Tweaks
To play the latest version please delete your previous unzipped files then download the new gdm_v10b.7z file and unzip, then run gdm.exe to play.
This new patched version will work with your previous update 10 save files. There was no changes made to the save structures or anything that would cause any issues this patch just fixes a few issues found by some amazing players, and tweaks a few values that needed some changes.
Fixes
- Some high end engine features gave the wrong +tech when added. These have all been examined and set properly, everything should add the listed + tech now.
- There was an issue if you created an engine with no features it was under the expected minimum and caused it to always be chosen by the Ai which is obviously an exploit :) I know include a 0 tech engine clamp. This is the kind of thing I never considered but thankfully a tester did and it has been removed.
- Few spelling / grammar errors were changed
- There was a training issue for worker 5, a bit of code was missing for worker 5 , but that has been rectified and all 6 workers will now gain skills / exp / stats as expected.
Tweaks
- Changed the chance your engine can be selected to make it a bit easier to be chosen. I want to carefully adjust this value as I don't want this feature to break the games economy. I think it's in a good place atm but this will be heavily monitored and altered as fit.
- Tweaked some sales / fans figures for large games, they were able to yield a bit to much with a 6+ score. They still pay amazingly well as they should, but they have been lowered to a more relevant amount.
- Tweaked exp gains on a few activities. This is very fluid atm a I haven't decided how much I want you to level.. to 20? to 50? to 100? The exp gained / needed curve is another thing that will remain under constant change until it feels just right. I love gaining levels and I am considering letting you go to 100, but that would require some changes to training requirements / gains.
Next on Tap
I am currently filling out some of the existing areas that are shallow of content like milestones / char selection / random name generation / random events and many more. I hope to have this update ready by the end of this week, but no strict date given yet. I am trying to create everything in a way that I can later localize the game for more languages, provided the game has some success I would love to hire translators to create localization for a few languages. I would love to get the game out to as many people as possible, and I DO NOT want to just google translate everything like some people do. That just leads to poor translations, and I don't think that's fair to other cultures. I know I hate broken English games. I am sure they would hate poorly translated games in the same way.
