GDM Update 9b

Small update that adds 1 missing feature and has a few minor fixes / tweaks based on feedback.

- Fixed an issue that allowed console ports during other game development

-Tweaked some of the values / costs associated with DLC / game ports.

-Fixed an issue that allowed Large games to score below a 0 which caused some seriously wonky math to occur for sales.

New Feature - Game Remakes

You can now choose to remake any large game that has been off the market for a couple years or is from a previous generation of consoles.

The remake functions similar to sequels in the sense that when you choose to create a remake you begin the creation of a new game with most of the options locked in.  You can then pick your platform as well as the game size (might lock this to large) and then you create the game as normal.

When it comes to scoring you are given a quality boost based off the quality of the original game, you are also given increased sales based off the amount of units sold from the previous game multiplied by a range based off the quality of the game.  If you created a high scoring 10 game and had lets say 100,000 copies sold you would see roughly a 25k increase in sales of the new game.  If you had a 5 with 50000 copies then you would see about 5-6k extra sales.

Of course these values are subject to change based on feedback / play-testing but these are the current values to ensure it's worth making a remake, but it shouldn't break the game with ridiculous sales.

Next up

There is 1 more feature I plan to add in the next update before I move into fleshing out some under done sections, and its a requested feature that i think makes a lot of sense.  Engine upgrades.  I plan to add a system that allows you based on the number of features in your current engine to update the engine by adding some new features.  This will allow you to extend the engine's life without having to remake a new engine cutting the cost down.  Each engine will have upgrade slots based on the number of features on creation, once these slots are filled you will need to make a new engine to gain more features, and then that new created engine will have additional slots based on the new features.  This should help lower the amount of engines you will need.  More details to come on this subject in the new year.

Happy New years everyone and I hope 2021 is a great year for everyone, I know it will be for GDM :)
