Version 2.0 Launch


Major Update

Version 2.0 is live.

To Access this build you will need to re download the new gdmv2.7z file.  You can delete all the previous files and unpack this new zip and run the .exe same as before.  This new version is compatible with old saves, which wont be deleted they are found in your appdata/local folder not the zip folder.  So you may choose to start where you left off and buy the second office right away or restart testing new balance settings and go for an early 2nd apartment.

-  I have changed the Research and financial menus to now open to a navigation menu.  This is faster for getting to the menu you desire as well as shows the different sections more clearly then the nested menus did.

-  I have added Staff management section to the financials page.  This section is used to review / recruit / fire staff members.

-  The second office has been added.  This comes with the ability to recruit 2 new staff and begin  creating medium sized games.

Medium sized Games

Unlike Small games medium games require you to assign workers to each stage.  The workload % of that stage is applied to the worker leading that stage.  This amount is reduced based on your endurance making larger workloads possible.   The worker in charge of the stage will make full powered bubbles while the rest of the team make a reduced rate divided by 3 bubbles.  Meaning you will want to make use of skills such as crunch during a stage that worker is the lead of etc..

If you exceed a 100% on a worker the quality will suffer for every stage lead by an overloaded worker.

Medium Games have a higher set of minimums you must reach to make perfect game such as 200 tech + design * year and technical min of engine must be 6 * year to not gt dinged for quality..

There is 1 current issue where it shows workload modified by endurance but then applies the full load this will be patched tonight.  Unfortunately I didn't notice this until I was already published.  However this is more an issue for larger games you can still handle base workloads for medium sort of :)

Video Walk-through

While testing earlier I captured a game-play walk-through of myself climbing from start to medium games.   Theirs a lot of different ways you can approach the game for max growth (which is the idea) but my strategy worked for me, but I did get some luck :P
